About the Korean Society for Medical Mycology
In developed countries such as the United States, Europe, and Japan, the society for mycology was established 40 years ago. In particular, after the formation of the International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM), it has contributed to the development of mycology by holding an academic conference every three years.
Our History
On March 9th, 1994, many people joined forces to launch the Korean Society for Medical Mycology and two years later, in December 1996, the first issue of the journal was published. It has been well past a quarter of a century since we took our first steps towards becoming a true academic society.
